Laser Hair Removal:

Laser Hair Removal is a treatment to remove, or significantly reduce unwanted body hair.

During laser hair removal, a laser emits light that is absorbed by the pigment (melanin) in the hair. The light energy is converted to heat, which damages the tube-shaped sacs within the skin (hair follicles) that produce hairs. This damage inhibits or delays future hair growth.

PRE AND POST CARE INSTRUCTIONS:

  • Avoid excessive sun exposure for 6 weeks before and after each session. Apply SPF daily.

  • Avoid exercise, and sweating for 72 hours pre and post treatment.

  • We do not recommend the use of solariums at all while undergoing LHR treatments. However we will not treat if you have been to solariums for 6 weeks before treatment. Do not go for 6 weeks after treatment.

  • Avoid spray tans for 2 weeks before treatment. Make sure any fake tan is scrubbed off completely before treatment.

  • Avoid Botox/ Injectables for 2 weeks before and after treatment.

How do I need to come to my appointment?

We ask that you maintain a high level of personal hygiene. You must come to your laser hair removal appointment freshly shaved, with no fake tan, moisturisers, deodorant, perfumes, fake tan or makeup on. Skin must be clean. This only applies to the areas you are getting treated.

We do supply wipes and makeup remover, as well as cooling gel for after the treatment.

Failure to come shaved to your appointment may incur an additional fee if we have to shave the area for you.

Shaving is recommended 24 hours before your appointment.

Does it hurt?

Laser Hair Removal can be uncomfortable, and described as a ‘hot rubber band flicking against the skin’. This pain will only be felt sparing on individual areas as the laser pulses. Once zapped, you do not feel it anymore.

How many sessions will I need?

This will vary between individuals. However we recommend between 8-12 sessions for a permanent reduction of stubborn hairs.

Are there any risks involved?

Laser Hair Removal is a safe procedure with minimal risks. Burns are extremely rare if precautions are measured by both the client and therapist pre and post treatments.
